speculative world
of work
What can we learn from visionary art projects about future working environments? This is the subject of the speculative world of work project. International visual artists presented their innovative projects on the walls of the controversial WeWork Coworking Space, Potsdamer Platz branch in Berlin, the epitome of the New Work movement. This setting increased the intensity of the discussion enormously.
mandatory mask
Oops: fictions are lived live in public around the world. The corona pandemic puts us all in the same boat unexpectedly quickly. The theme of the mandatory mask project is the New Normal. Protective masks in artist editions are more than an extravagant accessory, they are a modern means of communication, they create a new identity, carry a message, are emotional, social and symbolic statements.
#stayhome
#stayhome is a project that addresses the Corona-Lockdown-state and during this time records well-established ideas and speculative theories on the living room couch. Interiors stared at for weeks through the Corona glasses and their objects are artistically revised and produced in series. Visual artists design lamps, door handles, soap dispensers, etc. in connection with newly developed Corona 2020 terms such as new normality, social distancing, self-isolation, popular virology, lock-down, homeschooling, etc. The objects utopias for domestic use document the feelings, Hopes, fears and ideas of the Corona time and find their new home with private people. However, all PRIVATE FICTION objects together then populate a Corona house, the exhibition at the end of the project.
new equality
What can public space look like without everyday discrimination against people with physical and mental peculiarities? The new equality project uses the new technologies and digital techniques to redesign the public space, provokes new thinking about social norms and applicable standards and brings people with and without special features closer to each other. In the project, contemporary artists work hand in hand with experts, namely the owners of certain physical characteristics such as impaired vision, speech or hearing, or a different physique. The artistic concepts serve as food for thought and groundbreaking prototypes for society.
